I Lift Up My Soul by Charles Stanley-Book Review

Got my hands of on this book and wasn't sure what to make of it at first. I like reading daily devotionals and I also like Charles Stanley so I figured it would be a decent read.
Basically, the book takes you through a year of daily teachings with specific scripture reading and a bible verse for each day of the week. This book gives good explanations for events and situations that happened in the bible, which helped make the bible more understandable to me.

I gotta say it took me a few pages to really get into this devotional. Charles Stanley I find, is quite mature in his understanding of Christ and I found his explanation of Christ's character to be a little confusing to grasp in some entries. But as I continued to read, it started to make more sense. There is a wealth of info in this book and I found myself taking notes just to remember all the great points and truths I came across. Many of the daily messages speak the same truth but in different ways so if  I didn't get the meaning of a particular subject the first time in one message, I was able to understand it better in another .

Great read. Great way to start your day.
